The Sleeping Bear Dunes Wilderness is a pristine coastal area with towering sand dunes and stunning Lake Michigan views.
The main attraction of Sleeping Bear Dunes Wilderness is the massive sand dunes that tower up to 450 feet above Lake Michigan. Visitors can embark on a strenuous hike to the top of the dunes for breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding forests.
This popular hiking trail offers a more manageable trek to a stunning overlook of Lake Michigan and the Sleeping Bear Dunes. The trail is relatively short but provides a rewarding panoramic view at the end.
For those who prefer a more leisurely way to take in the beauty of Sleeping Bear Dunes, the Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive is a must-visit. This 7.4-mile drive takes visitors through forests, dunes, and overlooks with stunning views of the lake.
Glen Lake is a crystal-clear body of water located near Sleeping Bear Dunes. Visitors can enjoy kayaking, paddleboarding, or swimming in the pristine waters surrounded by lush greenery and sand dunes.
This trail leads visitors through diverse ecosystems, including forests, dunes, and beaches. Along the way, hikers may spot wildlife such as deer, birds, and even the occasional black bear.
