Description: Petty Officer 2nd Class Dennis Dewinter, aviation maintenance technician at Air Station Kodiak, assists a fishing vessel crew member into an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter during a rescue Jan. 4, 2008. Vessel master Jim Brewer, and crewman Jay Kingsley of Chignik, Alaska abandoned their 42-foot fishing vessel American Way after losing engine power. The master of the vessel contacted the Coast Guard by satellite phone and reported that he and the other crewman were safe on the northernmost part of the Semidi Islands, southwest of Kodiak. The men took a life raft and reached shore about 100 feet away. With them they had food, warm clothes and fire starting materials.
