The Everglades Wilderness is a vast and unique ecosystem of wetlands, mangroves, and sawgrass prairies teeming with diverse plant and animal species.
The Shark Valley Observation Tower offers a panoramic view of the Everglades wilderness. Visitors can climb to the top of the tower to see miles of sawgrass marsh, tree islands, and wildlife such as alligators, wading birds, and turtles.
The Anhinga Trail is a popular boardwalk trail that winds through a sawgrass marsh, offering visitors a close-up view of the diverse flora and fauna of the Everglades. Visitors can see alligators, turtles, and a variety of bird species such as anhingas, herons, and egrets.
Boat tours are a popular way to explore the Everglades wilderness. Visitors can take a guided boat tour through the mangrove forests, shallow waters, and open prairies of the park, while learning about the unique ecosystem and wildlife of the Everglades.
Located adjacent to Everglades National Park, Big Cypress National Preserve is a vast wilderness area known for its swamps, cypress forests, and wildlife. Visitors can explore the preserve by hiking, biking, or taking a guided swamp buggy tour to see alligators, panthers, and a variety of bird species.
The Flamingo Visitor Center is the gateway to the southern end of Everglades National Park. Visitors can learn about the park's history, wildlife, and conservation efforts at the visitor center, and can also take guided kayak tours, boat tours, and tram tours to explore the wilderness of the park.
