Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness

The Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness is a stunning wilderness area located in both Wyoming and Montana, covering over 944,000 acres. It is known for its rugged mountain terrain, alpine meadows, pristine lakes, and diverse wildlife.

Features:

- The Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness is home to over 700 miles of trails, making it a popular destination for hikers, backpackers, and outdoor enthusiasts. - The wilderness area is dominated by the Absaroka Range to the north and the Beartooth Range to the south, with towering peaks reaching up to 12,000 feet in elevation. - The area is dotted with numerous alpine lakes, including the beautiful Lake Abundance and Mystic Lake, providing stunning backdrops for camping and fishing. - The wilderness is also home to the famous Beartooth Highway, a scenic drive that winds its way through the mountains, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

Ecological Significance:

1. Beartooth Highway
