Details

Dixie National Forest

The Dixie National Forest is located in southern Utah and covers nearly 2 million acres of land. It is known for its diverse landscapes, ranging from high mountain peaks to deep canyons and red rock formations. The forest is named after the nickname given to the southern United States, "Dixie," and it was established in 1905.

Features:

  • High mountain peaks, including the Pine Valley Mountains and Boulder Mountain
  • Deep canyons, such as Cedar Breaks National Monument
  • Red rock formations, like those found in the Red Canyon area
  • Over 2,500 miles of hiking trails
  • Abundant wildlife, including deer, elk, and bald eagles
