Alaska Department of Transportation has closed Power Creek Road in Cordova due to flooding. The gate has been closed just past the last residence on the road. A section of the road beyond the locked gate has washed out and will require repair once the water subsides.
I took these photos in August 2009 during a hike to Lost Lake. This is an excellent but long trail outside of Seward, Alaska. We did a traverse, starting on the north side and exiting from the south side. It was still about 15 miles long with a bit of a climb on the way in. The day started off rainy and gray but got a lot better as we kept climbing. One of the major benefits was all the ripe blueberries on the trail - and they were so sweet - just like me!
