Justin Herbert was born and raised in Eugene, Oregon, where he attended Sheldon High School. He excelled in football, basketball, and baseball, but his high school football career was marred by a broken leg during his junior year. Despite limited recruitment offers, Herbert joined the University of Oregon football program, where he played for the Oregon Ducks. He became the starting quarterback as a freshman and went on to achieve significant success, including leading the Ducks to a Pac-12 Championship and a victory in the 2020 Rose Bowl, where he was named MVP.
