The stock market has been a bit of a roller coaster lately. Earlier this year the S&P 500 bounced around the 4,100 level. After an elevation in june from the 4,100 level it started bouncing around the 4,450 level, until today where it dropped back down to 4,330.

This is a new recent low, but there are thousands of people that see this is the correction that we have been waiting for, and probably just as many that say the economy is fine, even with higher interest rates and that this is just a dip and a buying opportunity before the next bull run.

Who is Right?

Only time will tell.

Predictions, Prediction, Predictions

If you look at any financial website such as Google Finance, Yahoo Finance, the Wall Street Journal, etc. you will have an endless amount of EXPERTS that will predictict which way the stock market will go.

You will often find an 'expert' that says the market is sure to go up, and then scroll down a bit and see another 'expert' give the exact opposite opinion. That is exactly what they are giving you: an opinion.

If they really KNOW what is going to happen, then they simply wouldn't have to work at a job telling you about it. They would just need to borrow some money on their house, or from their rich aunt or friend, and then invest it in the market to go up or down as they KNOW it will go. Then they could keep doing this making more and more money - so no need for a job.

So, we are just left with them writing their opinions on what COULD happen, and dummies like us read their opinions that are basically meaningless, and make financial decision based on them. How stupid are we anyway....???! So the beat goes on as we try to get an upper hand on our finances.
