One of the most iconic features of the Paria Canyon-Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness is the Paria Canyon, a 38-mile long slot canyon that is famous for its narrow walls and stunning beauty. The Vermilion Cliffs, which give the wilderness area its name, are massive sandstone cliffs that rise up to 3,000 feet above the surrounding desert landscape.
