Mount Rainier National Park is a breathtaking wilderness area encompassing the iconic Mount Rainier volcano in Washington state.
Paradise is one of the most popular areas in Mount Rainier National Park, known for its stunning views of the mountain and wildflower meadows. Visitors can enjoy hiking trails, ranger-led programs, and breathtaking vistas of the surrounding landscape. In the winter, Paradise becomes a winter wonderland, perfect for snowshoeing and skiing.
Sunrise is the highest point in the park that can be reached by car, offering panoramic views of Mount Rainier and the surrounding valleys. Visitors can explore numerous hiking trails, picnic areas, and the Sunrise Visitor Center. Sunrise is also a popular spot for sunrise and sunset photography.
Reflection Lakes is a picturesque spot in the park that offers stunning reflections of Mount Rainier on calm days. Visitors can enjoy picnicking, photography, and wildlife viewing at this tranquil location. The lakes are easily accessible by car and are a popular stop for visitors driving through the park.
The Grove of the Patriarchs is a unique old-growth forest that features ancient trees, some of which are over 1,000 years old. Visitors can walk along a boardwalk through the grove, marveling at the massive trees and serene surroundings. This easy hike is suitable for all ages and abilities.
Comet Falls is one of the most impressive waterfalls in the park, plunging over 300 feet down a sheer cliff face. Visitors can hike to the falls along a challenging trail that offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and forests. The hike is well worth the effort for the breathtaking views of Comet Falls.
