Ben Shapiro was born into a Conservative Jewish family of Russian and Lithuanian descent. He developed an early interest in politics and public debate, skipping two grades during his schooling. Shapiro graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at the age of 20. He then earned his Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School in 2007.
At 17, Shapiro became the youngest nationally syndicated columnist in the United States. After completing his education, he practiced law at Goodwin Procter but later transitioned to media and commentary. In 2015, he co-founded The Daily Wire, where he serves as editor emeritus. Shapiro hosts The Ben Shapiro Show, a daily political podcast and live radio show.
